Cell organelles  Function

Mitochondria

Cellular repiration takes place in them.
Ribosomes  They take part in the process of making cellular proteins
Endoplasmic reticulum  It stores substances such as proteins formed in the ribosomes and transport them within the cell.
Golgi body  The Golgi body receives substances from the endoplasmic reticulum an transports them outside the cell by means of vesicles formed within the Golgi body.
Membranous vesicles  They store substances such as nutrients, materials absorbed by the cell and waste substances.
Lysosomes  Lysosomes are vesicles full of digestive substances.
Cytoskeleton  The cytoskeleton gives shape to the cell, holds the organules and takes part in cellular movements
Centrioles They organise the separation of chromosomes during cell division and take part in the formation of filaments, cilia and flagella.
