Cell organelles |
Function |
Mitochondria
|
Cellular repiration takes place in them. |
Ribosomes |
They take part in the process of making cellular proteins. |
Endoplasmic reticulum |
It stores substances such as proteins formed in the ribosomes and transport them within the cell. |
Golgi body |
The Golgi body receives substances from the endoplasmic reticulum an transports them outside the cell by means of vesicles formed within the Golgi body. |
Membranous vesicles |
They store substances such as nutrients, materials absorbed by the cell and waste substances. |
Lysosomes |
Lysosomes are vesicles full of digestive substances. |
Cytoskeleton |
The cytoskeleton gives shape to the cell, holds the organules and takes part in cellular movements. |
Centrioles |
They organise the separation of chromosomes during cell division and take part in the formation of filaments, cilia and flagella. |
